The problem · DHIMS + LHIMS gap

The Problem.

Ghana operates two disconnected health information systems: the District Health Information Management System (DHIMS) for aggregate reporting and the Lightwave Health Information Management System (LHIMS) for clinical workflows at tertiary hospitals.

The gap between these systems means patient data is fragmented, referrals are paper-based, NHIS claims are delayed, and health outcomes suffer. District hospitals, polyclinics, and CHPS compounds — where the majority of Ghanaians receive care — are left with no digital system at all.
