Notifications & Alerts

Customize your Danipa notifications — choose what alerts you receive, how you receive them, and manage your preferences.

Overview

Danipa sends notifications to keep you informed about your account activity, transactions, and important updates. You have full control over what you receive and how.

Notification Channels

Danipa delivers notifications through three channels:

Managing Notifications

In the App

  1. Go to SettingsNotifications
  2. You'll see all notification categories
  3. For each category, toggle channels on/off:
    • Push — on/off
    • Email — on/off
    • SMS — on/off (where available)

Quiet Hours

To set up quiet hours (no push notifications during specific times):

  1. Go to SettingsNotificationsQuiet Hours
  2. Toggle Enable Quiet Hours
  3. Set the start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
  4. Set the end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
  5. Choose which days apply (e.g., every day, weekdays only)

Note: Security alerts (login from new device, account lock) will still come through during quiet hours.

Rate Alerts

Get notified when exchange rates reach your target. See Exchange Rates & FX for setup instructions.

Email Preferences

Transaction Receipts

By default, every transaction generates an email receipt. To change this:

  1. Go to SettingsNotificationsEmail
  2. Under Transaction Receipts, choose:
    • Every transaction — receive a receipt for each payment
    • Daily digest — one email per day summarizing all transactions
    • None — no email receipts (you can still download from the app)

Weekly Summary

A weekly email with your account overview:

  • Total sent and received
  • Wallet balance
  • Number of transactions
  • Top recipients

Enable/disable in SettingsNotificationsEmailWeekly Summary.

Push Notification Troubleshooting

If you're not receiving push notifications:

iOS

  1. Open SettingsDanipa
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Ensure Allow Notifications is on
  4. Check that Banners, Sounds, and Badges are enabled
  5. Make sure Do Not Disturb is off

Android

  1. Open SettingsAppsDanipa
  2. Tap Notifications
  3. Ensure notifications are enabled
  4. Check that the app is not in battery optimization (this can delay or block notifications)
  5. For Samsung: also check SettingsDevice CareBatterySleeping Apps and remove Danipa

General

  • Make sure you're logged in to the app
  • Try logging out and back in
  • Update the app to the latest version
  • Uninstall and reinstall if issues persist

SMS Alerts

SMS notifications are used for critical alerts and as a backup when push notifications can't reach you.

When SMS Is Sent

  • Transfer confirmations (when app is not active)
  • Security alerts (new device login, account lock)
  • USSD transaction confirmations
  • Prepaid electricity tokens

SMS Charges

Danipa does not charge for SMS notifications. Standard carrier messaging rates may apply depending on your mobile provider.

Notification History

View all past notifications in the app:

  1. Tap the bell icon on the home screen
  2. Scroll through your notification history
  3. Tap any notification to see the full details or navigate to the related transaction

Notifications are stored for 90 days.
